Our Dream

Golden Baobab's vision is to inspire the imaginations of African children through African stories. We discover, nurture and celebrate talented African writers and illustrators of children’s stories. We do this with:

• Our annual Golden Baobab Prizes for African Literature and Illustration which discovers and celebrates the best writers and illustrators and honors them with a prestigious award and cash prize.
• Our outreach initiatives which nurtures talented African writers and illustrators through programs and workshops and provides creative and technical resources to improve their craft.
• Our sister company, African Bureau for Children’s Stories which publishes award winning African stories for children and supports the careers of children’s writers and illustrators in Africa.

Our dream is to see a world filled with wonder and possibilities, one African children's story at a time. We want to inspire the imaginations of generations of African children through African stories.
